I realize this photo makes this oatmeal look like
something a forlorn and mistreated child in a Roald Dahl story might have for
breakfast.
In reality, it’s on par with having pie for breakfast—strawberry
rhubarb pie, with a dollop of cream.
Not much of a recipe here, but for guidelines on cooking
steal cut oats, see my post on the magic properties of the stuff. Along with the water and oats, I added chopped
rhubarb, strawberries, a grating of lime zest, and a spoonful of brown sugar.
By the time the oats were cooked, the rhubarb and berries were softly stewed.
